Instant messaging is a great way to communicate with people online. It’s convenient and easy, and there are a wide variety of different ways to chat using social platforms. Most instant messaging requires that you download a client, but many clients are capable of handling multiple instant messenger services all at once. Here are seven worth considering:

XChat –  If you love chatting in IRC then XChat is the free and best available IRC client application  that works both in Windows and Linux platforms. It allows people to have both public and private chats. It also allows the user to join multiple chat rooms at a time and enable them to make file transfers.

Pidgin –  If you are new to chat programs then you must get Pidgin.
